Jesus is God in the flesh

It is in the Scriptures

As believers in Jesus Christ, we are to follow Him and seek Him in every area of our lives and to study the scriptures with all our heart. The core of our belief in Jesus is to accept that we are born in a fallen nature and are in need of a Saviour.

If we confess our sins and invite Him in our lives as Lord, we will be saved.

Redemption Through Christ

Romans 3:23

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10

that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Gift of Eternal Life

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

The only name by which we are saved.

Acts 4:12

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.

Full Authority

Jesus said he is the way, the truth and the life and that he has authority over all creation. No one else has ever made such a claim.

John 14:6

Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

The Lord God manifested Himself to His creation throughout the Old Testament. In both old and new, God clearly states that He is the Almighty, The I Am, and the author of all things. Jesus has the very same nature as God. Jesus is given the same authority and is the author of life and that nothing exists that has not been created through Him.

Colossians 1:15-17

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Hebrews 1:2

in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.

We can know the Father through the Son because He is in the very likeness of God and was seated with Him before the creation of the world.

One with the Father

John 8:58

Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!

John 10:30

I and the Father are one.

The Triune nature of God (Trinity)

God is One in three distinct persons. Our Father in heaven, The Son Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, and the Holy Sprite. God is triune in nature.

Jesus is the Word of God, and with God since the beginning

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 17:5

Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

Isaiah 42:8

I am the Lord, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images.

Jesus is one with the Father and he shared the same glory before the world was made. Only Jesus can share in this glory and no other.

One God in three distinct persons

Matthew 28:9

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 48:16

Come near to Me, listen to this: From the first I have not spoken in secret, From the time it took place, I was there. And now the Lord God has sent Me, and His Spirit.

The above verse reveals the nature of the Godhead. The Lord God delivers this message to Isaiah and says “come near to Me”, and He said that the Lord God has sent Him. This is Jesus speaking. He was with God in the beginning. (see verses John 8:58, John 17:5)

Jesus is the First and the Last with God.

In the Old Testament God clearly states that He is the Almighty, The I Am, and the author of life. We see the same with Jesus

Isaiah 44:6

Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:‘I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.

This verse asserts God’s uniqueness and eternal nature as the one true God.

Revelation 22:12-13

Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

This verse, spoken by Jesus, identifies Him with the eternal God, emphasizing His power and authority over all things.
